Facetious February

The month started out with Sky View's Sweetheart Ball----Danica definitely was the sweetheart of the group. They went surfing indoors at a place in Ogden for the day and then went to dinner and the dance.

Three days later our sweetheart took to the skies and flew to Iowa to check out Iowa Western Community College, where she's been offered a scholarship there to play soccer. This was her first solo flight and she even had a lay-over where she had to change planes! She did just fine!! Maybe our little girl is growing up?

Lindsay and Titan went with me to take Danica to the airport, so on the way home we stopped and did a little shopping and got a bite to eat to make it more of an outing.
Two days later, Dale picked up Danica at the airport and she was all ready to sign on the dotted line and go---we'll have to look over the offer, but it might just work!

For an early Valentines Day, Dale and I went to the temple with our friends, the Follett's and did sealings. We figured it was like renewing our vows in a way :). Then we went out to dinner and got in a good visit.
Dale and I took Danica, Andrew, Lindsay and Titan to Sky View's musical, Beauty and the Beast, for their Valentines Day deal from us. I must say it was very entertaining and very well done. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
I got red roses and a nice card from my Valentine on the big day even!
The weather has been quite mild, but we ended up getting at least 4 inches of snow once and 2 inches another time. Dale was happy to use the snow blower. However all the snow had melted by the next day or even later in the day. Those boys and their toys!

To celebrate Presidents Day we took Danica, Andrew, Lindsay and Titan to Oakley, ID to see Amie, Matt and the kids. Jaxson gave us the house tour again and we made pizza and breadsticks, played games and visited. Then we went to the school and Matt opened the gym. We played gym hockey and had a blast----it gave me a better appreciation for those goalies.
It was good to spend time with our Idahoans.

Danica even got a little freaked out when it was time to go!

My Valentine gift to Dale was to go see Jim Brickman at the Eccles. He's a composer as well as sings. We went for ice cream after to top off the evening.

Danica had a photo shoot in Ogden, to take engagement pictures of her cousin, Krissie Hansen. Dale and I tagged along so we could visit with Craig and Heidi. (Dale's brother and his wife) We all had lunch after and got in some more chat time.

Dale and I got together with my brothers and their wifes and we went to dinner and visited and then came to our house for dessert and to visit some more. We all decided that we are pretty blessed to have such great siblings.
Thanks to skype we were able to check in on Nate and Kim. They said it's been in the 70's there in California. They're staying plenty busy with work and school. Garrett and Zandra are as well----I guess that's okay though it keeps them out of trouble.

Andrew and Lindsay got some good news for them, but not so good for us---Andrew got a job in Georgia to work with a company that does crop dusting with helicopters. He'll be real busy for about 9 months and then has 3 months off. Lindsay and Titan will be moving in with us until things get settled and figured out. A big change for them and us! We hope all goes well-----change is good, right?
Danica also got her wish, she signed on the line and will be playing soccer in Iowa for two years. She's now looking for a better paying job so she can have that much needed cash to get her out there :)-------Oh, what a month, and a good one at that!
